3 Tips to Help You Feel Accomplished
Let’s play a game - I give you clues and you guess what word I’m thinking…
There is a love hate relationship with it.
We never have enough.
It’s easy to blame.
Did you guess TIME!? Cause you’re right!
Having time or not having time is actually a feeling. It’s all in how you perceive it and how you prioritize it. You may feel like you don’t have time. It’s how we feel at the end of our day about what we accomplished or didn’t accomplish. Focus on what you DID accomplish (not what you didn’t). Doing so will help you be able to better evaluate how you spent your time and create positive feelings around time.
Here’s a tip to help you prioritize your time. Ask yourself, what are the 3-5 most important things that need to get done today to help you feel accomplished at the end of the day? Each day will be different.
As busy parents, we will always have a to-do list. Some days it’s much longer than others. But it’s about being realistic in what we can get done and being ok with what you got done in your day.
The most successful people have fitness or movement as one of their 3-5 most important things they need to get done today to help them feel accomplished at the end of the day. I know, you are probably saying but I’m so busy I can’t add one more thing onto my plate. But here is the thing, don’t wait until you have “free time” to start a fitness program because then when you get busy again, you’ll stop. It happens all the time unfortunately. The best time to start is actually when you are busy. Learning how to fit it in when times are tough means you’ll stick with it for the long haul.
At the end of the day it’s important that we feel accomplished - so I’m going to leave you with 3 tips to feel accomplished at the end of your day.
Write down your top 3-5 top priority tasks for the day.
How long will it take you to get these tasks done? (make sure you over estimate your time)
Schedule it in your calendar. (see it visually somewhere so you can map out your day accordingly)
This will help you to create a flow for your day, be able to accomplish your most important tasks, and feel accomplished at the end of the day when it’s done.
Remember, we all have the same amount of time in a day. Make sure you use yours the way that benefits YOU!
