Do you go to the pool and wear a cover-up? 

 

Do you look around for the perfect time to take it off and jump in the pool before anyone can see you? 

 

Are you sitting on the lounge chair covering your midsection with your arm, a drink, a towel—even though you are dry? 

 

Can you imagine how it would feel to like your midsection? To leave the cover-up behind and walk around the pool confidently? 

 

Your Beautiful Body

Before we talk about getting some definition for those abs, let’s talk about your beautiful body! 

 

If you are a mom, you made a human being!!!!!!! 

 

If you are in your 40's and either perimenopausal or facing the "m" word head on, things are probably shifting.

 

If you’ve had a rough couple of years and your physical health has been at the bottom of  your to-do list, it is not the end of the world. 

 

If you aren’t where you want to be, it’s okay . . .

 

First, accept where you are in life. Be proud of who you are right now!

 

Next, don't compare yourself to others. 

 

Then, set realistic expectations and reasonable goals. 

 

You want to see some definition in your abs? It’s a major confidence booster and makes you feel stronger! 

 

Focusing on Your Abs

Ready to do the work? Great! 

 

Building a strong core is key. It helps with movement, flexibility, and strength. A strong core helps posture, relieves pain, and gets those abs looking great! Here are some important facts to get us started:

 

#1 Just doing crunches or sit ups won't get you the definition you are looking for. You need “compound movements” like squats, shoulder presses, and pull ups.

 

#2 You must include strength and conditioning workouts into your routine. 

 

#3 You must fuel your body with good foods and hydrating water.

 

A Strong Core=Defined Abs=A Strong Body

 

That’s right. If you have a strong core, you have a strong body.

 

(Another bonus besides looking and feeling great: having a strong core will help alleviate some low back problems. Yes, please!)
