Switch your mindset to a strong mentality in 3 simple steps!

This week I turn 42. When I was younger I thought 42 was so old, LOL!! I thought I would be married by 25, have kids at 27 and be settled in our forever home. Instead I got married at 30, had my daughter at 38 and my son at 40 and will mostly likely relocate one more time before we settle into our forever home.

I never thought I would be my fittest and strongest in my 40’s. I always believed that could only happen in my 20’s. But, see in my twenties I was only thinking about appearance and being skinny. I thought the only way to achieve to achieve my goal was by dieting. Boy was I wrong, that way of thinking only lead to depression and frustration. Once I had a mindset shift, I stopped focusing on loosing weight and instead focused on getting stronger, that’s when the transformation happened.

How to switch your mindset to a strong mentality in 3 simple steps:

1.) Instead on restricting your eating focus on two simple hunger cues. The first hunger cue to focus on is eat when you’re hungry, don’t eat when you are not hungry. The second one is eat until satisfied NOT full.

2.) Instead of working out to burn calories and losing weight focus on achieving things you didn’t think you accomplish. For example, getting a pull up, doing a regular push ups or running a race.

3.) Instead of going though the motions in your workouts remind yourself to finish strong! When you get tired remind yourself to think and FINISH STRONG!

These 3 steps switches the mindset from a diet mentality to a strong mentality!
